Rebuilding 1997 Yamaha 150HP 2 stroke S150TXRV powerhead.
( Click here to view blog with pictures )
(first time rebuilder here)

I inspected the intake. The reed valves themselves look clean and shiny with the exception of 2 which each have a tiny eigth inch area of surface rust. All reed valves are stiff against their seats (no deformaties).

All my reed stops are unevenly dulled which I am not too concerned about. 3 reed stops have some rust on them, mostly surface, but the stops have pits in them also.
For Picture Click Here

I assume I can use fine sandpaper and remove the rust. Will these reed stops be OK or is it recommended that I replace them, and what about the reed valves?

Thanks.
