reeds? do i have them?

Yet another post by me..

can anyone tell me if i have reed valves? with this afftect the performance if they are bad?

Do you have reed valves? NO! Does your engine have reed valves? YES! LOL

If reed petals are broken or do not sit flat on the vee blocks (larger engines) or reed plate (smaller engines), or if the Vee blocks are corroded, then yes, performance will be affected--what and how much depends upon the damage.

Note, however, that performance problems due to reeds are way less common than problems due to ignition (1st) or fuel (2nd).
