Refrigerator runs on AC but not on DC power

Anyone have any idea what would cause a marine refrigerator to not work on DC power but it works fine on AC power?

is it a 2-way refrigerator? if so, and you have gone thru the normal troubleshooting for your specific brand of RV refrigerator, then I would imagine something has failed.

yes, it is... we just purchased the boat, used, and there is no manuals, etc for anything so i haven't found any troubleshooting ideas yet

look up the manufacturer of the RV fridge (probably Dometic) and look on their website for a service manual. this is where google is your friend.
