Hello all , well i decided to order a new reg/rectirier, and stator for my 98 115 intruder my stater had all the varnish melting off all the coils it checked out good with the ohms check but decided to replace it. I orderd all parts from brp well it came in and i noticed some differnces from my original parts. The purple wire off the reg they dont use it its pluged off also it doesnt have the cooling fins it has the posts, on the stator the coil oppisite the two power coils is gone just a blank space i was looking at cdi parts and it looks just like cdi components are these up grades will my reg rectifier and tac still function , how about the one power coil missing on the stator will moter function the same. Thank you

Re: Reg/rectifier stator replacement questions

The purple wire is no longer required on the new voltage regulators. The old design required 12 volts from the battery to work the new one doesn't require it. The old voltage regulator and tach should still function the same.

The cooling fins were replaced by the posts on the reg for better cooling. Could you post a pic of both the new and old stator ??
