Regal Trim Panel Removal - Wakeboard Install?

I'm looking to install a wakeboard tower on my Regal 2250 Cuddy over the winter and will need to access the inside of the gunnels to fit the mountings. Does anyone know how the various bits of interior trim are mounted? Is it possible to simply unscrew the panels or are they held in place with plastic press fittings (like some bits of vehicle trim)? If so, how can the panels be prised off and can the plastic fittings be re-used?

Incidentally, can anyone recommend a wakeboard tower that will fit the cuddy without removing the cockpit canvas? The usual Monster Towers are nowhere near tall enough to clear the stainless steel framework.

Each boat is different, so your best bet is to get a flashlight and maybe a mechanic's inspection mirror to look under the gunnels. You will probably find stainless bolts that are attached to threaded tee fittings which are pressed into wood backers for the coaming upholstery.
Some towers are erector set style, meaning you get some angled pieces and some straight stuff. Perhaps you could increase the height of the sides. But use caution, that will decrease the width at the top because towers are not square. I'd e-mail or call the tower folks. I bet they deal with that question a lot.

I believe that "Mischief Managed" has this type of boat . . . Maybe you could PM him.
