My tow vehicle is a 200 E150 and it is due for some sort of shocks, I tow a 5500 lb Aquasport and was wondering if Air Shocks would be better than regular shocks.

Any recommendations ?
Thanks

I would not run airshocks on anything. They are a terrible ride. Something like an add-a-leaf would probably be a better solution.

I use Air Lift air bags in the coils of my old 98 Grand Cherokee. I would not use air shocks because the shock mounts are not meant to support weight and can break if too much stress is put on them. The bags are an easy install and work very well. When not inflated above the min pressure they do not affect the ride at all.

Air shocks are a joke don't waste your time with them.

Do you have a problem with too much tongue weight pulling your van down?

Air bags or a set of helper springs can help out there. The bags being adjustable is nice so you don't have a stiff ride all the time. But remember it's only a half ton truck so don't go crazy trying to beef it up into something it's not.

If you don't have that issue I've got to tell you that the Explorer Pro-Comp's that I put on my Blazer are amazing with the 10 stage velocity valves think they run about $30 each.

I agree with what was said about air shocks. the shock mount isnt designed to hold a load. air bags with a couple of pounds in them will do wonders.
