Would anyone know whether it is possible to fit a regulator to a 1979 Johnson 70hp 2st. Without a reg the voltage at the batterry climbs very high sometimes.
Late 1990's vintage 40 and 50 HP Johnson and Evinrude two-strokes have 12 AMP regulators. You should be able to remove your current rectifier and replace it with the combination rectifier/regulator. Most salvage places should have a ton of these laying around.
