Reinstalling bellows

I have a 1973 Starcraft ford 302 merc. outdrive. I had to pull the lower unit to replace the water hose so I decided to replace the bellows right away. How the heck do you get this thing back together. I have gone by the pic's on mercstuff.com, but I am stuck at the point where you are placing the bell housing back on the boat. I have the shift cable boot and exhaust bellows on the boat and the U-joint bellows on the bell housing. I fogot to look at clamp placement before I removed them and cannot figure out how you get these things back on, let alone tighten the clamps. <br /><br />I have more 20x more hours working on this dang boat then I do using it.

Transom side<br />boot clamp is at 3 oclock, head end up

That is what I thought but it was not working the best. I will give it a try again. I guess I should not have been working on it at 6:00pm after being up at 3:00am, the patients just were not there.<br /><br />Thanks, <br />John
