Well the time is almost here to reinstall the 3.0 into my boat. It's an OMC cobra outdrive. My SELOC manual says absolutely nothing about aligning the engine when only pulling the engine and bellhousing (which is what I did) and not disturbing the outdrive. I'd like some opinions, and then if necessary some details. Do I need to do an alignment? And if so, does that mean that I need to pull the outdrive to do it? If I understand correctly (which is not certain) What I will need to do is install the engine in the hull without the outrdive installed, then align the outdrive housing with the coupler using the alignment tool, then reinstall the outdrive. Is this basically correct? Feel free to add any instructions or tips for this first-timer here. I'm definitely the 'do it right, once, the first time' type. Or at least I like to think I am....
