Just got done getting my new gimbal bearing installed, bellows inspected, engine aligned, and water pump changed on my Alpha one gen 2. I replaced the orings on the driveshaft that goes into the coupler. I also have the bell housing gasket kit ready to go. I was told by my mechanic to use Quicksilver 101 with teflon grease on the driveshaft before installing. Is this the best grease for that? I purchased a tube, and am ready to install. Just want to get all of your opinions. Thanks for the help

While it will work, it's not the BEST grease to use. Mercruiser sells a product called "Spline Grease" want to guess what it's for. Find a REAL Mercruiser dealer and he probably carries it on his shelves. Get the OEM grease, the aftermarket from places like sierra are really watered down and don't even feel the same.

Looks like they changed the packaging.
Now it's not just spline grease.

As always Don, thank you for the reply. I will stop by the other dealer in my area, and pick some up.
