Reliability of current Mercury portable four strokes 9.9 to 20 HP

Looking to purchase new 2014 or 2015 Lund A-14 with 15 HP Mercury portable four stroke outboard. Has reliability improved in the 9.9 to 20 HP range motors? My last boat had some motor reliability issues and was just wondering if reliability has improved. The biggest issues I had were mainly starting issues,...and I was using gas stabilizer and good quality fuel.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the new Merc 4 strokes.

They are actually all made by Tohatsu, and rebadged with the Merc or Nissan decals.

All the more reason to go back to them,then! I hear the Tohatsus are very good and very reliable motors! I wasn't happy with Yamaha,...don't even ask me why!
