Remote oil filter on 2003 5.0

Just finished installing remote oil filter kit on 2003 5.0 Mercruiser...Should have pulled the engine! That is a job that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy!

Sometimes, pulling the exhaust manifold makes a job like this one way easier. I have to pull the manifold to pull the starter on my boat.

Make sure you get the hoses correct. Dealer put mine on and crossed the hoses. 100 hours later the engine sounded like it had solid lifters. Fillter has a drainback(check) valve, engine recieved no filtered oil from the get go. Bypass opened and engine did get unfiltered oil. Volvo shipped new long block

And of course now that it's done, don't go slacking off on the oil changes now.:whip:
