Remote wiring for a 25 hp evinrude with push button choke

i am putting in new console on a pontoon where the remote choke didn't work, i have ordered a new push button choke ignition switch part#0508180, i am trying to understand what the mechanism is that trickle charges the battery while running and how does it fit in the wiring from the motor to the battery?

The large red and black battery cables between the engine and the battery provide both the starting function and the charging function.
