Could some one help me by telling me how you can see the parts where the shift rod detaches from the levers under the carbs. I can see the pull pin but that is about all I can see. I would like to change the water pump but if I am not able to see it any better some one else might have to do it
Thanks

Have you pulled the pin out?
You shouldnt need to look under the carbs, thats why they made that design to improve it from the previous style when you had too

I didn't pull the pin out yet. I didn't know the next step so I decided not to bother it. I have done an old 88 special but this is a lot different.

You might want to push the lever away from you to disconnect the shift rod.-----This is a 60 degree 2 stroke correct ?

You push the shift lever to port to disconnect the upper linkage after removing the pin.

Ok sounds like you push the lever... Make sure you do that before undoing the lower bolts as you dont want it hanging up by the shift rod
