I have a South Bay 523 CRF pontoon. If you are not familiar, it has a fishing area in the back of the playpen. That consists of a center cabinet with a livewell and tackle box & the batteries, hydraulic steering underneath. The sides of the cabinet have two Attwood fishing seats, one on each side. The starboard side has the seat slightly blocking the gate to the swim step and the ladder. With all the grandkids swarming all over and trying to get to the swimstep, it would be nice if the seat was able to be taken out so it didn't block the way out. There is a black button that kinda reminds me of the button on an umbrella that when pushed in, it would loosen the lock to be able to take out the seat by just pulling up. I tried that and it will rotate but I am not able to either lift it out, or unscrew it. I have given the pedistal and the inside of the pedistal (by using the button hole) a shot of PB Blaster to see if that would help but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Just replaced a pedestal seat in my boat. My badly corroded seat base did swivel on the pedestal but I could not pull that thing off for the life of me. Tried PB blaster like you. Tried tapping it up from the bottom with a mini sledge. In the end I used a propane torch to melt the plastic ring while my son rotated and lifted the old seat off.
