What all do I need to do to remove the oil injection on my 91 200 Merc? Do I need to remove the oil pump shaft from the powerhead or can I just plug the hole? I had an oil hose bust a couple of weeks ago but I never had any warning alarms. I believe I would rather mix the oil myself to be on the safe side. I checked compression and all cylinders were 120 lbs. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bassin,
Yes pull the shaft out. Plug the hole with a plate and gasket. Be sure to seal off the oil line to the fuel pump so no air gets in.

I would put new lines on it and use it myself they were over 10yrs old.

corm

Thanks Corm for the info. This pump and hoses have only been on for about 2 1/2 years. As for the sensor for the oil pump, can I just unplug it or do I need to remove it also? Appreciate the help.
