Should I use Microsofts add/remove function or should I use CCleaners remove function?

If the program has its own uninstaller you should use it first. If not then use the control panel. Then check under windows / program files and delete the original file if it is still there.

First use the own program remove through the start up menue. If there is no uninstall or remove there within the program you want to remove. Then use the Microsoft Add and remove program through the control panel. That way if any other programs are using/sharing files they will not be removed and the programs left will still function properly. Do not delete files under program files unless it's a last resort

Windows Add/Remove program first, then CCleaner clean-up/registry clean.

If I'm not mistaken, Add/Remove programs launches the same uninstaller as the one in the program group in the Start menu. Both methods are equivalent. Using any 3rd party "remover" should be a last resort.
