Removing lower unit 25 hp Mercury

Having troubles dropping the lower unit on a 2003 25 hp 2 stroke. Removed four bolts and unit dropped, but is hanging by the shift shaft. I have tried to disconnect the shaft under the power head without success. I pulled the square shaft out that runs from the shift linkage to the shaft, but still won't drop. It is so tight under there, I can't see what is still holding it. Thanks in advance for any help.
