Removing Seals in the Upper GearCase Lower portion

Hi,
My boat is a Bowrider 1977 FiberGlass 18'
Engine is Mercruiser 470
Sterndrive is a MC-1 (Pre-ALpha)

This time I'm servicing my stern drive (Upper Gear Case Unit) by myself and I have the part kits and tools.
I'm done replacing and has no problem doing the seals where the U-joint portion is.

The part that I'm worried is the removal of seals in the lower portion of the upper gear case. I'm wondering if somebody could share their techniques/way/approach in removing the 2 seals.

Its simple a long screw driver and a hammer! Flip the housing upside down Knock out the big one first! then flip it back over and Knock out the small one. Clean the casing apply blue loctit and reinstall both lips face up. Go to the adults only follow the links to the manual for your drive its a must

I have made mine out of some steel stock but you can use a long 1/2 drive extention and install the correct size socket "backwards" to act as a driver

I also did as Bt Doctur With socket and extentions works great!! Just find your manual in the stickies and follow it. Best advice i can give! And yes ive done the job a few times Just recently rebuilt my hole leg Had a pile of speacial tools to buy to do it ! In the long run a sei would have been cheaper but i will get more satisfation this way. Cheers And Good luck
