I have a '94 20' playbuoy pontoon that I am redecking.

I've been successful in removing everything except the console. I popped the center cover off, and took the bolt off, but am stumped. How do I proceed from there?

Re: Removing Steering Wheel

The wheel is a spline and taper fit or is keyed and taper fit. If the wheel doesn't have threaded holes for a wheel puller, simply pull the wheel toward you as hard as you can while someone taps the shaft (with the nut partly threaded on -- but not tight). That should jar it loose.

Re: Removing Steering Wheel

Replaced my damaged helm last weekend and went with Silvertip's method. Worked like a charm. Once I figured how to get the teleflex cable out of the steering unit, the rest was easy.
