want to test temp switch on my '98 90ELPTO. i removed the two screws that secure the plastic retainer tube and slid the tube up the wire so now I can see the rubber boot looking part of the switch that sits snug in the block. how do I get the switch out...i dont just want to go pulling on it by the wire or prying around and damage the rubber...i have found in my OEM manual how to test the switch but it doesn't really say how to get it out (unless I've over-looked it). Have to say (like I have in the past)...not real impressed with the Merc manuals compared to OMC...merc manuals may be fine for mechanics but may be somethimes not so much to the average guy....but thats a different thread
