I'm going to tackle removing engine and trim system in order to restore some rotten transom and stringersee. Wondering get if anyone may have some advice for how to best remove the trim pump assembly and hoses fcontained within the rear bilge area.
You will want to disconnect the hoses at the trim pump. The trim cylinder to hose connection strips easily. You can leave the trim cylinders bolted to the motor or remove them, as is convenient. Also, if you remove the gearcase, the balance of the motor can lean against the wall of your shop. I would strap it to the wall though, as it is a bit top heavy.
