The motor started dropping cylinders, 2, 4 and 6. While testing the stator, It passed all the test but one (blue/white, red/white, 5400/6200 ohms)the leads run to the switchbox for cyl. 2,4 & 6. I replaced the stator and the rectifier. The boat ran great. the 3rd trip out I noticed that the tach was stuck at 5100 rpm but the motor seemed to run fine accept for the motor sputtered a few times. Then while plaining the motor sputtered one more time and dropped 3 cyl. as before except it was now 1, 3 and 5 While testing the stator, It passed all the test but one (blue, red, 5400/6200 ohms)the leads run to the switchbox for cyl. 1,3 & 5.

Test made with a Goldstar DM9183

List of readings:
Stator ohms
20k scale red to blue = open /should read (5400/6200 ohms at R* 1000)
20k scale red/white to blue/white = 5.84 /should read (5400/6200 ohms at R* 1000)
200 scale red to GRD. = 145.0 ohms /should read (125/175 ohms at R* 1)
200 scale red/white to GRD. = 145.0 /should read (125/175 ohms at R* 1)
20k scale Yellow1 to GRD = open
20k scale Yellow2 to GRD = open
200 scale Yellow1 to yellow2 = 1.1 /should read (less than 1 ohms at R* 1)

Stator volts at 1500 rpm
Blue to GRD. = 27 vac
Red to GRD. = 50 vac
Blue/white to GRD. = 135 vac
Red/white to GRD = 72 vac
Yellow1 to GRD. = 9.25 vac
Yellow2 to GRD = 9.25 vac
Yellow1 to yellow2 = 17.2 vac

Rectifier volts at 1500 rpm
Red to GRD. = 17+ vdc (when starting volts drop to 8.5 vdc)

There is a black/white wire that bridges the two switchboxes.
