Re: Rep vs Dems

I think they're all aliens, and we have been duped into thinking that we elected them freely, when it's really our implants that tell us for whom to vote.

Couldn't agree more. My only suggestion would be to add 'political pundits' to the list. I'm talking about those who intentionally inflame the extremists on either side in order to gain money & celebrity for themselves.

Re: Rep vs Dems

Both parties are dirty. Think about it....why would someone spend millions of their own money for a job that pays 200K per year.

How can someone like Ted Kennedy keep getting elected. These people get entrenced and think only of themselves and staying there - not the will of the people who put them there. Prime example - Illegal immigrants. This is an issue well over 80% of americans (Rep and Dem) want resolved. Our elected govt is doing nothing but holding more debates and studies and passing meaningless measures. Reason why: they are all in the pockets of big business who profit by the endless pool of cheap labor.

WE NEED TERM LIMITS!!!! and we need them NOW!!

I assert that those in politics see it as welfare just the way it is now.

I agree with part of this. As a resident of a state (AZ) that has more illegals than any other, I know of what I speak.

Illegals are NOT wanted by big business. No big business is going to knowingly hire illegals. It's too risky. Get over the 60's Big Biz=Bad montra.

The reason that politicians have a "hands off" stance on illegals is that ILLEGALS VOTE.

Our Governor (Napalitano) is fighting Prop. 200 with all her might. Prop. 200 basically said: Illegals are not entitled to government services and they can't vote. She is blocking this at every turn, even though it was voted in by over 80% of the electorate. She KNOWS who buttered her bread.

Illegals, currently, do not have to show ID here to vote, neither do I. That's ludicrous.

I beg to differ, DJ---my opinion, of course. I think that no business wants to be the one to get caught employing illegal aliens, but if the other guy does it, who cares? It drives wages down and that's good for business as a whole.

I am in full agreement about Napolitano, though. She's got to go!~

-dd-

Wow, I guess convicted felons can vote in Arizona as well. No ID, guess I could pick up a drivers license and vote. Not in Texas.

What big business does not hire illegals, Brown & Root, you are way wrong there, Highway contrators, sorry wrong again, Halliburton, darn but are they big business. Just big business that can use cheap uneducated skills use illegals.

Amen on McCain, DJ.

My choice for 2008 by a looooong shot.

As I see it, the big difference between liberals (mostly Dems) and conservatives (mostly Reps) in dealing with the poor and disadvantaged is that the libs want to give them a fish and the conservatives want to give them bait and teach them to fish.

JB, If that were true I would agree with the conservative side. However, I think it often becomes no bait you should learn to fish. I believe the problem begins at the elem. level. Education. Not everyone should be planning on a college degree. Tech. training, and just like at our glorious Texas A&M labor must be paid above the poverty level.

Re: Rep vs Dems

I wish it were that simple. Why do we have to choose sides. why not choose the person who will bring the most to the table. I am so tired of political parties and their BS. Didn't Washington warn us about a party system?

Actually a Master's thesis was written in 1981 by a person very close to me that made two predictions in an unchanged economic system as seen at that time. One the USSR would fail because of Greed of a few, leaving the multitudes as havenots. Two, that withing 50 years the USA would fail as a result of Greed of a few, leaving the mulitudes as havenots. It is not hard to see, history does repeat itself and all governments fail from greed.

I agree-wholeheartedly. Man, by his nature, is corrupt.

I'll add this.

Man has a system that he can follow, however, we've chosen to ignore it. That ignorance will be the end of society, as we know it.

It does all start with education. Let's have a review.

1. 1963-we took all semblences of God out of the schools. No morals, no cares, no consequences. That was the holy grail to the communists and Hitler. Again, no morals, no consequences.

They failed, I wonder why?

2. The electorate has become jaded and bored. Thus we get "jaded and bored" voters.

3. Those that DO vote are controlled by special interest groups. Not all, just many.
The "not all" part are what one would call people that "think".

Where do you think all the "disrupters"-60's radicals went?? They went into PUBLIC EDUCATION!

Thinking and common sense are lost arts, in this country.
