the painting is the easy part--removing the old paint, etching with acid, and primer are the tuff parts--there are alot of Starcraft fans on the "restoration Section" check in with them.

Moved to the Restoration section. You'll get more help there . . .

Post some pics so we can see what you're dealin with. Basically you need to prime any bare aluminum with zinc chromate self etching primer, then prime with the mfg recommended primer for the finish paint you choose. Lots of choices. Lots of guys on here use Rustoleum Professional Oil base. Others use Interlux Briteside, others use Pettis Easypoxy. But the most important part is the prep.

I'm just sayin...:D

I am no expert but I had some 'experience" in the painting part. Check out my resto thread.:D

Have you looked at this post? http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=385090

There are some perfect examples and methods used within here. Pay particular attention to the restorations that North Beach has done.

Depending on the results desired...... all of your paint work starts with the prep.
