Repainting - available flat colors

Hello - I have been reading through the various posts concerning repainting boats. I have a 12' aluminum Starcraft that I want to repaint the interior section. I have primed it and it is all ready for the final finish. However, after looking and even calling Rustoleum, I cannot find a flat grey finish like I had in mind. The exterior of my boat is the original green.

Can anyone make any suggestions for other colors/brands that might work well for repainting the interior surface of my little Starcraft? I just can't imagine having a glossy finish on the inside of the boat, especially given the fact that there will not be any decking (for the most part at least).

Thanks for your help.

If you shoot it with the gloss paint with hardener and then a month later wet sand it with 1500 grit it will degloss the paints surface

The problem is...Rustoleum doesn't make industrial "Flat Gray" Paint !!! At least I can't find any!!! They make Flat Black and a Flat White soooo... You could by both and make your own Grey!!! That's the best you could do IMHO!!!

It depends on the shade of Gray you want. The more white you add the Lighter the shade of Gray you will get.;)

I would add small amounts of the black to the white. Try to keep track of the formula incase you need to mix up more.

"Flat" is created by adding talc or similar kind of material to the paint. Those sharp edged particles break up the surface tension and adds microscopic imperfections to that glossy smooth finish. Problem with any true flat color is that it wears, sometimes a lot, in appearance. Those particles stick up on top of and in the paint and as you walk on it, or slide anything across it, the surface appearance changes rapidly.

Post number 42 on pg. 3 will show the can. It's a silver grey acrylic paint.
