I have a 2006 Avon 8ft gray inflatable. The bottom of the transon has a rubber peice that overlaps about 3" on to the wooden transom and 3 " on to the rubber bottom. The outer edge was dragged and was worn down to bare wood. Althought the rubber seam is still attached to the bottom and there is no leaking.

It just looks ugly. I wanted to attach a new rubber strip 4" or 5" wide and the length of the transom, 4ft, to recover the wooden edge of the wooden transom.

Where can I get the material, rubber cloth, glue etc. how difficult would this be. I can only fine patch kits but nothing that would let me run a piece the whole length of transom bottom. Avon seems to offer no help on their web site.

So you need transom holders, the plastic/rubbers that secures transom to lateral tubes right ? Avon will take both eyes and nose from you, can place any brand that measures same, comes in small, medium, large sizes, try a good boat repair service station for availability, this is a hell of a job if done unexperienced, asume will be a costly job on hand labor.

Happy Boating

Not the piece that secures transom to lateral tube, but on the bottom of the wooden transom was coated with rubber fabric, hypalon is the material. 4" wide to go over bottom edge of wooden transon. About 36" long.
