Specifically portside engine kill wire (black/yellow) on 1987 Ev 90HP. Point me to some photos would be great. Has to be common.

I'm thinking I need to pull and replace the pin. Any special tools or can I get away with the garden variety ?

thanks

the best thing to do is drill the pin out solder a new pin on the wire put a little epoxy inside the plug where the pin gonna go in these are sealed plugs & this in my way of fixing it , then it is all back to origanal

They are called amphenol connectors and come in male and female, they can be purchased thru CDI or iBoats under part numbers:
973-1469 for males and 973-1653 for females. Just crimp the end you need on wire and use a pair or small precision screwdrivers to push back into connector, lube it with alcohol first. They are pressure fit and need not be glued or epoxied in place....

Is it the rubber connector? I have been able to push the pin out (opposite direction) with a small .050 allen wrench and repair the broken wire by resoldering it or replacing the bad wire and replacing the pin back in the plug. Has always worked well and I seal the top of the plugs with liquid tape.

Ain't that always the case with boats ?

I stand corrected, it is a 4 wire connector. The connectors are the female type.

You guys saying the pin needs to be pushed out A) towards the broken wire out the back of the plug or B) pulled out from front of plug.

I think B pulled out from front.
