Re: Repair haul holes???

I think I'd want to find out how long the holes have been in the hull, how they got there and how much water has penetrated the hull and what damage has been to to stringers or other below deck wooden members. As for patching the holes, I'm sure there are a number of options, such as epoxy fiberglass resin reinforced with fiberglass matting. (Several layers of each.) I've also seen folks use marine grade epoxy putty to repair small holes. I'm also thinking that you need to determine if the repair can be made from the outside of the hull (I would not recommend this.) or from the inside of hull. (Better option in my opinion.) However, I'm going to let one of the more seasoned veterans pipe in on this matter as I'm not an expert in fiberglass repair. Good luck and get ready to do a little detective work!

Are they actual holes or chips? Epoxy sounds like a good idea for chips.

Any size holes are easy to fix. sand down hole to the fiberglass with about 4 inches around hole. fiber glass hole. sand smooth, then get the correct color jelco smooth jelco in, to smooth out the sanded hole.

Please send close pictures of the holes (or worst) as if you are trying to show the bottoms in the holes. Jow
