trying to find a way to match my floor decking, I have to repair a 3" circular hole from an old seat pedistall I believe, my decking has the texture of a golfball (best way I can describe it) wondering if there was a way to make a mold from the original deck area? any suggestions would be great on how to start this small project, so far I have bought resin, and chop stran mat, I bought some gelcoat with som pigment powder I believe I have a good match after some mixing and dabbing, but I really would like to get the texture close, also how far from the hole should I sand down an area to lay the glass in I really don't want a raised area when done!
