So I broke a seat today. It is useable if the boat isn't moving but unsafe while cruising. I had some upholstery redone in the front of the boat last week and kinda liked the idea of builing a wide "leaning post" (big enough for three)and having it canvased . I could mount it to these posts and still get around in the boat. Any opinions ? I don't really want to buy a new one at $100+ because it would make the other one look bad. Most of the cost in the new ones is the cusions. I don't have a cusion on my good chair so.... What would you do?

you could build a plywood box, 3"x14"x the length you need, then buy some foam, batting and vinyl, cover it, and mount to pedistals. you could get fancy, and built it deeper with and upolstered lid, that opened for storage.

Definately going to make it taller. Maybe 10 inches. Might put some cup or rod holders on the sides and rear. I like that I sill have the quick release knobs on the peds. In case I need to work under console.
