I plan to do some work on a 1989 Mercury 25 hp. I need to purchase a repair manual and have found two different publishers. One is published by Clymer and the other is Seloc. Is one manual better than the other. The repair work consist of replacing the rings.

Thanks

Re: Repair Manual

My $.02 is the Clymer sux. At least for my Mariner. Finding things in it is a nightmare. Index is useless. Diagrams will change models during a process. Example, carb rebuild goes from pix of a single throat to a dual in the middle of the process.

Again, just my 2 cents.

I have not seen the Seloc.

Re: Repair Manual

Just to confuse you, I have used the Clymer's Sport Jet manual for a couple of years and found it excellent. But I don't have anything to compare it to. It helped me resolve many electrical issues that I had with that boat as well as good instructions regarding the jet pump.

Re: Repair Manual

I personally like the mfg. manual better than the clymer. No expierience with the secloc.
