They are alittle spendy but what you get covers your engine only, if it is in the manual it has to do with your engine, they are worth every penny.
The last Seloc I saw covered 22 models and none in any detail.
If money is tight look on Ebay, usually a good selection there but stay away from CDs, they are pretty worthless unless you have a computer on your boat.
well I know the pre 1980 E/J's pretty well. But I am getting a lot of calls on some of the newer motors and diffrent models. So I would like to start to learn more on the honda's, mercs, and other main brand motors.
OEM manuals are not lumped together in one publication covering all models and horsepower so to learn about every motor from every manufacturer would require a significant expenditure. But if you intend to be in the business, that's what you better get used to. New engines are generally ECM controlled. Any issue generally pops an error code. Without the proper manual you will not do your customers a service if you have to guess what the issue is. Those manuals contain detailed trouble shooting charts. The aftermarket manuals may or may not contain any of that information.
