I have a 4 hp Evenrude lightwin motor. The engine has been overheating and I suspect I need to change the cooling system. There is enough oil in the gas mix so I know that this is not a issue. <br /><br />The motor will run for a short time and then cut out. In general there is some smoke and the motor becomes very hot. I am not sure how to get at the cooling system or where it is on this unit. I suspect that it uses an impeler to draw the water through the engine, but have no user manual to find information. <br /><br /> I have posted a message asking how I can determin the year of my engine. The numbers I have found on the unit are: 4406R C 55923 and 314791.<br /><br />I have found the year. It's a 1974. I can't find a repair manual though.
