One of our vinyl seats has numerous punctures from some critter. The vinyl isn't torn, just small punctures from its claws. I could let it go, but I would prefer to repair the small holes to prevent them from getting worse. How can these punctures be repaired? Can the holes be filled with a white vinyl repair type compound? Thanks.

The vinyl repair kit "works" if done abosolutely correctly and you're not too picky about the end result. Don't believe the pics on the box...

The issue becomes apparant when you atart sitting on the seats again. By the end of the boating season, all of those little repairs will pop off and your holes will be visable again. Get it recovered properly in the off season.

We had a couple punctures repaired on our last boat. These were done by a decent shop, and they still stuck out like a sore thumb. They held up great, but a new cover would look alot better.

Just out of curiosity how much to redo a pedestal seat (bowrider capt.) and/or a sundeck/engine removable cushion?

Re: Repair vinyl upholstery punctures

I used a vinyl repair cement. I just filled the holes. It's held up pretty well, but it does stand out. The cement is clear, my seats white. White cement might have worked better, but for my boat aesthetics is not that big of a deal. That being said, it is time to redo some of the punctures. My long term plan is to replace furniture, so at this point, it's just a band-aid.
