There are several places on my boat where the screw holes have become stripped out and the screws are no longer doing their job causing a very rattly ride. What is the best way to remedy this. Do I use anchors or fill the holes with some kind of putty or cement? Thanks a lot!

Depends on where the screws are. If you can, I'd use machine screws and nylock nuts.

If you can't get behind to use nuts you can fill the holes with epoxy and then redrill them and reinstall the screws.

If you haven't used JB Weld, this is a very strong epoxy. There's probably equally strong epoxies, but I've used it quite a bit and am very pleased with it. I would guess that if you filled the old holes with this and re-drilled, it would be strong or stronger than original. Assuming, clean, dry hole, of course.
