Hi,

I am in the uk and looking to replace the impeller on my BF15 4 stroke outboard. Its a 2003 model and any help would be appreciated. I have done numerous searches and all advise buying a manual. I would happily buy a manual, but all I can find is upto year 2001. A link to a suitable manaul would be excellent. Espically one I can download.

So far I have undone the 4 bolts at the bottom and tried splitting. This does not seem to work and I am sure something else is holding. Do I need to split the gear shaft going down? , or/and is there a seceret bolt elsewhere that I am missing.

any help gratefully recieved.

Re: Replace Impeller Honda 15

Yes you do need to split the gear shifter. Put the motor in reverse, about half way down the leg you will see the shifter rod w/a long and a short nut attached. Loosen the small nut just enough to allow you to back off the long nut. Mark the location if need be so you can put back exactly where you found the nuts.
It will take a couple of taps w/soft hammer/object to loosen it. DO NOT HIT THE FINS as they will break.

If you have a 15D you will also have to remove the 5th bolt under the rear of the cavitation plate.15 A and 15D are 2 entirely different engines and since you are in the Euro market its hard to say what you have.
