replace impeller

How do i replace the impeller on a 1987 force 85hp outboard. I got the high temp buzzer and belive it is the impeller.

your best bet is to purchase a Clymer manual, it will give you instructions on how to remove your lower unit to gain access to the water pump. this may sound a bit daunting at first but it's really not very difficult. You may want to enlist some help in reinstalling your lower unit though

Get Clymer manual.
Read it.
Remove lower unit.
Replace impeller.
Install lower unit.

Yeah its easy coming out with 1 person but going in its a bear with only 1 person... it will make you think your doing something wrong =)

BEFORE YOU GO TO ALL THAT BOTHER CHECK THE INTAKE WATER PIPE IT CAN GET JAMMED UP WITH SEAWEED AND STUFF A STIFF WIRE POKED THROUGH WILL CLEAR IT
