Replace old throttle control box with newer version

I have 1989 85 hp Force outboard that my throttle control box broke. I bought a newer version because the old one was discontinued. The newer version had an 8pin connector but my old one had no connector and was wired directly together. The old wires coming from the engine are not the same as the new wires coming out of control box. I need to know which wires go together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mercury should have an adapter harness available. Mercury bought Force in the 90s. They later came with Mercury controls, but you can adapt the old US marine control harness with the adapter

There is no harness on my engine it's just wires that were directly wired to the control box. I am trying to just wire it directly together.

Never heard of a Force to Mercury adaptor??? Might be one but I've not seen it??
Is it too late to send it back(the new one) ? Buy one from ebay?

There should be a buss bar on the motor that the wires get connected to, it should be the standard marine color coded connectors.

I did get it from ebay, anyway I figured it out. I just needed to know the new color codes for the handle. It took me taking it apart to trace each wire out but I figured it out. I have the color codes for future reference.
