My first post! 1998 Sea Ray Signature 210 BR 5.0 w/Carb.Time for a new prop. Pic is of my RPM and Speed at full throttle (i could have eeked an extra mph, but for this discussion). A bit slow out of the hole, but not bad top end - will be wife and two kids most of the time, sometimes 8 people while entertaining. Given that I am going to replace very soon, any recommendations? Thanks in advance!!! Mike

Welcome aboard Mike.

Please take a little time to read our forum rules. We ask that you not hijack other topics or post to topics over 90 days old. I've moved your post to it's own topic.

Also - give us a little more about what you like to do while out on the boat, where (what type of water) you boat, and maybe why you're considering replacing the Sea Ray. Is your current boat in good shape?

Howdy, Mike.

Gotta question - Are you replacing the boat or the prop on the Sea Ray? Hard to tell from your post.

Mike, Welcome aboard

we need to know what the real speed of your boat is via GPS, not the pitot tube gauge reading since the stock wish-o-meter may be off a bit. also need to know what your WOT RPM is .

is that the speed and RPM with you mashing the throttle against the stop?

assuming this is the stock 220 hp 2-barrel mercarb 5.0 with a 1.62:1 ratio. you dont state

you also dont state what prop is on the boat now.

again, you need to help us help you.

on my 2002 searay 190 BR with the 220hp 5.0 I ran a 15 x 19P stainless Solas prop and could hit 49.5mph with just me in the boat (GPS speed)

My original post was in a separate prop topic, a moderator created a new topic and named it ‘Replace Sea Ray Boat’ not sure why.

because you violated the rules by posting in a 10 year old thread initially.

It’s a 1.62. What was your RPM @WOT 49mph?

My 2 cents are... I think you have to much prop. You should be able to tach 4600 to 5000 RPM... but like most have said here need to know what the prop size is and what the actual MPH are, example my speedo starts to go down at 45 mph. My boat tops out at 54 MPH by the GPS. As far as hijacking a post, I think what they are trying to say is for the most part if you have a question of your own you should start your own thread. It makes it easier and less confusing when someone else reads your post for their problem. One thread, one OP and one question.

Have fun Mike you will find lots of useful information here

FYI I’m not looking to ‘Replace Sea Ray Boat’ and iBoats is going to lose a long time customer because of you. Im here to buy a prop with some help of other people. This crap about “hijacking a thread” and “violating rules” and then screwing up the Topic name you created is total bunk and has only confused everyone. Adios captain Keyboard - my next message is to iBoats corporate.
