Replace Volvo Penta control

I broke the plastic throttle lever on side control for a 2009 3.0 Volvo Penta. And of course I can't just order the lever. My question is, if I replace the whole control assembly can I just undo the shift and throttle cables from old and put onto new? Or will have to do adjustments on both? Thank you I'm advance.
