Hi all I have a 95 Sunbird with a Volvo 3.0 and a Penta XS out drive. I would like to know if I can replace that outdrive with a Jet Drive?? I will spare you having to read why I want to do this but if interested I will be happy to share. does anybody know if this is even possible??

I bet you can, if you rebuild the transom for it, and probably stringers and motor mounts and cut out a hole for the intake. Sounds like a serious bundle of work. I'm assuming you have a donor boat to get the complete drive from?

Just buy a jet boat? If you do it get pictures!

Possible...Yes....practical....

You would most likely need to glass in the entire transom and then re-cut the hole for the pump, I believe you will need to reposition the engine to line up with the pump too.

Then it may not work well with your hull design, but yes it is possible.

As the others have said, anything is possible with enough time and money. But the hull. As a current outboard jet owner and former inboard jet owner, the hull is critical for decent jet drive functioning.

If you want an inboard jet, buy one.
