Replaced Floor

When looking at a used boat, the owner informed that the floor had rotted and been replaced recently. Is there anything or anywhere you can check to see that the floor was properly replaced so there are no problems in the future? What should you look for?<br /><br />Thanks so much

look for soft spots. use an icepick or some small pointed object and stick in the floor to see if it is hard. this should work

Spend some time in the project boats section reading what others have done with rotten floors. Also go to the red Search at the top of the page & enter wood rot or rotten floors or whatever. Then find out from the seller in detail what he did in replacing the floor.<br /><br />A beware - even if the floor was replaced properly you need to find out what the seller did to check the condition of the stringers.
