The end of last summer i bought a factory repair manual and rebuilt my carburetors with a full rebuild kit, even new floats. A few days ago replaced the impeller, the kit even came with a new top housing. Everything I've done is working the way it should :)

My Tach seems to be off and noticed my battery volts (using my meter) would only be around 12.7 volts while the motor was running and 12.4 volts while the motor was stopped.

According to what I've learned on this Forum, a possible fix would be to change the rectifier. I ordered a new one and installed it today. With the motor not started the battery was reading 12.4 volts. I started the motor and it was reading 13.8 volts at around 1800 RPM. I have been wondering why there wasn't much change to volts on the battery when the motor was running and when it wasn't. So it was the rectifier :)

Sounds like you fixed the correct thing to me. That's the way to do it. :thumb:

If your battery only reads 12.4 volts then its is not much more than half charged.. It should read around 12.7 if has rested a while since last on charge or under load.

It is bad for a battery to be left in an even partly discharged state. You should get it off the boat and onto a good automatic multistage battery charger with an adequate amps output for the size of the battery as soon as possible

I just checked my battery. Its showing 12.62 volts after sitting overnight and at a cold 37 degrees. I only ran the motor for 5 minutes yesterday after sitting for 3 months. I 'think' all is okay and will charge up to what it should be when i can hit the water. I'll hook up my charger later today. Thank you all :)
