replaced waterpump still not getting any flow

So I replaced the pump and am getting same results. I was having trouble getting the water tubes connected when attaching the lower but am pretty sure they are good since with the muffs on water would flow through the drip points. But i felt I couldnt tell if the water was coming out due to the impeller or hose pressure so I dropped it into a bucket. the bucket covered the h2o intake. When at idle no water dripped.

Any suggestions?

is it possible that when at idle it doesn't pick up water? I doubt this.

Also the idle seemed to speed up when on muffs, in the the bucket it stayed at a steady pace. Is this normal because of the water force on the exhaust?

The water in the bucket needs to be 4-5 inches above the water pump. If you are just covering the intake screens you don't have enough water in the bucket, fill it up!
