replaceing power cables on a 1985 50hp evenrude ( from the remote shifter)

have new cable and want to install them. what is the proper procedure?

Control cable , the battery cables or the throttle and shift cables ?

Fairly simple.-----Split the box and remove old cables.----Install new cables.-----Adjust black threaded pieces to match what came off the motor.----No trickery involved I think.

+1.I suggest the helm end first. Adjust the cables; not the shifter or the O/B.

There is no adjustment at the control box end.

Any pictures of the control box where you could adjust at the control box end.----Or what year control box on what year motor ??

OP did not say what box he had. Mine is a U S Marine(Force). Cables I ordered from Iboats were threaded at both ends. Perfect fit; Did both in less than a hour.

I would say he has an OMC control box for his 1985 model Evinrude !!-----Just not the same as a FORCE.
