will an 83 3.8 chevy motor swap right in place of an 89 4.3? Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, but why? And it better not be a car 3.8! And you might have coupler issues as there were no Cobra (I assume its a Cobra by your username) couplers made for 2 piece main seal Chev engines that I'm aware of.

i dont think its a car 3.8 but the reason is, is because i am having a hard time finding a 4.3 in my price range. I just found a great deal on a 3.8 and he says it runs great. he only wants 350 for it. I can still get a 4.3 later i guess. Are there any mods i need to be aware of with the 3.8? Can i still use the same exhaust manifolds from the 4.3? Thanks

Yes exhaust will fit. And engines can run great-and still be freeze cracked. Buyer beware!

Pull the flywheel and couple, take them to a machine shop and have them redrill the flywheel.

Would be cheaper to just use the right engine in the first place.

i cent find a 4.3 for under 1250. How much would the machine shop charge to drill new holes?
