Hi Guys

Looking for a bit of advice. I am looking to upgrade my Volvo Penta AQ200d to a diesel engine. Have been looking at these 2 engines but cant make my mind up which one would be best. It is for a Fairline 23' The dealer says they will both be set up to fit my 280 sterndrive.

The TAMD31 is a reconditioned engine with 3 months warranty and the Iveco is a brand new marinised engine with a years warranty. Does marinised engines come with sea strainer ?

Getting them for the same price including wiring loom and gauges.

Not sure if I should go for reconditioned or marinised. any ideas ? I have copied the link below

What horsepower do you have now? I am concerned that 130 bhp and 23 ft. don't go together well unless you are not planning on planing. I understand your canals etc, so maybe that's your gig. The "marinised" engine has a trans on it, you don't want or need that. Sea Strainer, probably not. Sort of considered a boat part, not an engine part . . . Good luck.

Re: Replacement Engine

Hi guys

Decided to go with an Iveco 8140 diesel. Only problem is I seem to be having a hard time locating a manal/workshop book for it. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Why not go with a Deere? For that power level, a 4045TFM75 would work perfect. They are a bit on the heavy side, but you will never have problems.
