I am replacing the four oil lines that run from the front storage compartment to my twin 150 hp Mercs. Do I need to fill the lines with oil before connecting them or will the motor draw the oil from the tanks into the lines when the motors start up.

Replace the lines, then on each engine, run the engine and the air from the lines will wind up in the oil reservoir on the engine. The oil alert alarm may sound, and that would be normal. Crack the filler cap on the engine oil reservoir and let the system purge the air out till oil overflows from that reservoir. Snug down the cap, clean up any oil spilled, and yer done. Then, of course, there should be no alarms.

Don't over tighten the cap. They like to split if you do.

hope it helps
