Replacement pressure washer

I have a 1900 PSI Generac (3.75HP B&S), that did a pretty good job, but I did not fully drain the pump (froze), so it's about $150, or about 1/2 the cost of new to repair, with parts made more cheaply than the originals.

Any suggestions on a comparable gas or electric replacment?

The Gererac is the only pressure washer I have owned, so I don't have much history to go by.

I can only give you a do not buy warning.

Bought a Husky electric 2000 psi today at the depot. took it out of the box, handle was already cracked. Strike one. Put on the first nozzle (orange head, high speed noz). Within 45 seconds, the nozzle SPLIT and water gushed out of the side. Strike 2 and 3 for me. Took it right back. On the prowl also for a solid well made gas or elec washer.

The yello K'archer machines are excellent. Mine replaced a husky that wasn't half the machine the K'archer is. If memory serves, about 150 bucks, either WallyWorld or Kmart, can't remeber.
I highly recommend the K'archers.

Why not find a electric motor and a direct drive CAT pump. Best pressure washer ever!

Check CAT Pumps

then search ebay, even a used one can be reconditioned easily. I found one local 4.2 gpm 3500psi $200.

Very good idea!

Unfortunately though , I already have about 150 unfinished projects, including many that require powerwashing.

I highly recommend the K'archers.

I saw some of those at Walmart for $100 and up, but wondered if they were decent quality. I did buy the Generac there, and it worked pretty good, until I let it freeze up.

Also, I did not realize that some pressure washers use "conditioner" after use to protect the seals, etc, from rotting out.

Do they have repair parts available for Karchers?

Since the Generac B^S gas engine has only about 25 hours on it, I have decided to just order the replacement pump.

Just need to remember to roll it into the basement come October.
